In 2021, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. This came as a real shock to me. I applied to several clinics in different countries, but in the end I chose Motol. I was attracted by the highly qualified doctors, modern equipment and positive feedback from patients. In Motol I had surgery to remove the tumor. The operation was successful, but after it further treatment was required - radiation and chemotherapy. During the entire period of treatment I was under the supervision of experienced and attentive doctors. The clinic staff were polite and always ready to help. Now, three years after treatment, I feel good. The tumor is not detected. I am in stable remission. I am very grateful to the doctors and all the staff of the Motol clinic for their professionalism, sensitive attitude and help in saving my life.

Last year I underwent treatment for a complex fracture at the Motol clinic. My leg did not heal for a long time, so I decided to change doctors and go to the Czech Republic. And I really regret that I waited so long - I went straight away, I would already be running. In general, at the clinic I had a second operation with bone grafting and the process began. I did not have much confidence in neurosurgeons in my country, so I considered the treatment of astrocytoma in the near abroad. In the Czech Republic I underwent the operation for my bladder cancer removal at the Motol clinic. The examination was done by PET-CT and cytological analysis of urine. My Orthopedic Surgeon told me that getting a hip replacement was necessary since the fracture had damaged the joint. When I was diagnosed with liver cancer, I was devastated. A doctor in my hometown recommended the Prague Proton Therapy Center for my case. At the center I felt like I was in good hands. I have never seen such technologies as here!!! I went through all the treatment sessions and expected terrible side effects, but everything turned out okay!!! ugh ugh!!! The care was enormous from all the health workers!!! When I returned home I felt severe weakness and nausea.. the treating oncologist immediately contacted me online, gave recommendations, and I already feel good. I was treated at the Prague Proton Therapy Center for non-small cell lung cancer. The doctors and nurses were very attentive, constantly supporting and helping. I was taught deep breathing and breath holding techniques for the treatment sessions. She was able to minimize side effects, felt only a little weak and a little dizzy, but quickly passed. I still don’t believe that the cancer is gone... it’s all thanks to the doctors of this center!

Would I have proceeded with proton beam therapy treatment knowing the below with the associated high cost to me? DEFINITELY NOT.
Approximate cost including all medical, airfares, accommodation, living expenses: AU$80,000 (British PDS 46,000).
Damage to bladder/prostate/bowel area caused by proton beam therapy treatment as mentioned below and shown in the attached photos.
Medical report:
Post treatment urologist ,relevant part of his report dated 16.08.19: "large and highly inflamed rigid vasular prostate. Mild bulb structure. Large red patches over bladder and prostate, severe radiation cystitis"
Post treatment gastroenterologist,relevant part of report dated 4.09.19: "radiation proctitis,moderate low rectum, upper anal canal anteriorly. Haemorrhoids moderate
Diverticulosis- minor left sided
Suspect bleeding coming from proctitis rather haemorrhoids "
Facts : traveled from Sydney Australia ,treatment Jan /Feb 2018 .
True, it is pain free during the 10 min treatment period, adverse effects on me started after 5 days, was definitely not pain free to urinate. Tablets were given by the clinic to ease this pain.
In about June 2018, problem of pain and passing blood developed rear passage, settled after aboutt 3 months with antibiotic support from Prague Proton Beam Centre. Needed to use a cushion to sit on for this time for some pain relief.
In approx March/ April 2019 (approx 14months later) excessive urination developed, at its worst I was urinating 25-30 times a day, medical GP treated for urinary tract infection with different antibiotics without success. Referred to a Sydney radiation oncologist who put me on the drug ciproflxacin.
He believed the infection was in the prostate and needed this strong antibiotic to penetrate. It can have noticeable side effects and It caused a major issue with my achilles tendon ! I then proceeded to travel overseas .I was still urinating approx hourly at the commencement of my trip. There are apps showing public toilets in cities, very helpful.
The oncologist also referred me to a urologist which resulted in the attached photos and report recording the damage done by my treatment.
The urologist suggested hyperbaric treatment may help heal the radiation damaged bladder etc.
I visited a specialised hyperbaric unit ,the doctor required a cancer free report of rear passage area before I could have treatment . This resulted in photo 2 and report of further damage to the rear passage area. No cancer was evident.
I proceeded initially to have 29 hyberbaric treatments daily excluding weekends then a break of a couple of months as away and then a further 20 hyberbaric treatments in hospital.
PSA results: 18.11 19 dropped down to 0 .82 .( my lowest reading)
Last test was up 2's ,still within acceptable guidance by Prague .
Incontinence issues: no pads etc needed, major problem only with infection .
Would I have proceeded with proton beam therapy treatment knowing the above with the associated high cost to me?

After breastfeeding, I noticed a slight asymmetry in my breasts. I didn’t want to get implants, the volume suited me, my breasts didn’t sag, but this defect still caused discomfort. I turned to the plastic surgeons of the Forme center for a consultation. They offered me the option of filling this hole with my own fat. I decided, why not? You can adjust your hips and breasts at the same time. Overall, the procedure was successful, I recovered quickly, although over time my breast volume became slightly smaller, but I was warned about this, so I was ready.
