In short, they saved my life here. In Lithuania, I was diagnosed with a serious heart defect, but they gave me little chance. I started looking for a solution abroad, the coordinators recommended Severance, because the cardiac surgeons here are highly qualified. Professor Kim operated, the operation was successful and the recovery was faster than I expected. I came to the Severance Clinic from Tirana when I was diagnosed with liver cancer. The doctors in Albania said that surgery was impossible and that I needed to undergo long-term chemotherapy....but I wanted to find more modern treatment methods. Here I was quickly diagnosed, offered modern radiation therapy, and as a result, they were able to reduce the tumor and perform surgery!! After that, I needed to undergo targeted therapy. The doctors explained everything in detail that this was necessary to prevent relapse....I felt safe during the entire treatment!! Last year, I had a terrible accident and had a knee surgery. A friend of mine took me to Bobath Memorial hospital, where the orthopedic surgeon provided me immediate aid. However, after performing thorough diagnostic tests, he diagnosed me with a knee joint fracture. I was unable to move, and after consultation with the senior orthopedic surgeon, he suggested knee replacement surgery. I was not ready for the surgery; however, he provided me with complete details about the minimally invasive surgery. After three days, they performed the surgery and took me under observation for a week. After that, I got discharged. The procedure went well, and it all happened due to the supportive staff at Bobath.

My husband’s health was deteriorating because of stomach cancer and the chances of his survival were decreasing day by day. We were in search of a good hospital for him with the latest medical technologies and proficient staff. We were recommended to the KUIMS hospital by a friend as he also got his cancer treatment from there. We went to the hospital and consulted Dr. Chang. She patiently listened to all of my husband’s symptoms and treatment responses. My husband’s treatment started right away after the diagnostics and there was an improvement in his condition. The spread of cancer slowed down at first and then the tumor started to shrink. Dr. Chang told us that it was a good sign and there is a fair chance of having control over it. With consistent chemotherapy with the combination of other treatment options, the final report of his PET scan was clear and there was no sign of cancer. This was a miracle for us and there was a huge contribution from Dr. Chang and her team who took care of him this whole time.

I had been suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome for a long time. The numbness and weakness of my hand made me depressed and anxious. I consulted many doctors but there was no permanent solution for it. I went to KUIMS hospital and consulted Dr. Ahn Jung who is a specialist in treating these kinds of diseases. I had trouble urinating so thought to get myself checked by the doctor. Dr. Gyun in KUIMS hospital was my doctor. After test results, I was diagnosed with the first stage of prostate cancer which was progressing rapidly. As I had cancer in my family history and many of my relatives lost their lives due to this disease painfully. I was very worried but luckily, Dr. Gyun calmed me and discussed all the treatment options. I wasn’t in favor of radiation so he gave me suggestions to get cryotherapy. The chances of cancer riddance were higher so I agreed. I was scheduled for surgery next week. The procedure took 2 hours and the results were great.
