In 2021, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. This came as a real shock to me. I applied to several clinics in different countries, but in the end I chose Motol. I was attracted by the highly qualified doctors, modern equipment and positive feedback from patients. In Motol I had surgery to remove the tumor. The operation was successful, but after it further treatment was required - radiation and chemotherapy. During the entire period of treatment I was under the supervision of experienced and attentive doctors. The clinic staff were polite and always ready to help. Now, three years after treatment, I feel good. The tumor is not detected. I am in stable remission. I suffered from back pain for a long time until my hip started to fail. It turned out to be a large hernia and somehow inconveniently located. In Kazakhstan they said - a risky operation, there is a risk of damaging the spinal nerve. When I was diagnosed with lung cancer, I knew I needed more than just treatment. I needed clarity, competence, and care I could trust. After a lot of research and second opinions, I ended up at Hirslanden Swiss Hospital Group, and I’m genuinely glad I did. From the start, the experience felt different. The consultations were not rushed. The surgeons explained everything in plain language, including the benefits of minimally invasive surgery for my case. I wasn’t promised miracles - just a well-coordinated plan, backed by expertise. I had video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS), which is a less invasive approach compared to traditional open surgery. I’m not going to pretend it was easy, but I avoided the long incision and rib-spreading that usually come with lung operations. That alone made recovery a lot more manageable. The hospital itself is spotless, quiet, and clearly run to Swiss standards. Follow-up care was prompt and professional, with zero confusion about appointments, prescriptions, or next steps.
