Educational Background

• Prof. Dr. Mehmet Demirhan completed his undergraduate education from a well-known university “Istanbul University, Faculty of Medicine” in the year 1984.
• After graduation, he was granted a scholarship by the Government of Germany through which he started his residency in Traumatology and Orthopedics from a similar university in the year 1986 and finished his residency at Heidelberg University in 1992.

Professional Career

• During the years 1994-1995, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Demirhan went to the USA because he was granted the fellowship of Sports Medicine in Pittsburgh University, Department of Orthopedics.
• In the year 1996, Dr. Mehmet returned from the USA and started serving at Istanbul University, and due to his professional services, he attained an Associate Professor’s position in the year 2002.
• He was granted the position of a Professor in a similar hospital and he served there till the year 2011.
•  He has been serving as a professor at KOC University, Orthopedics, and Traumatology Department since 2011.
• Dr. Mehmet became the founding president of the Turkish Board of Orthopedics and Traumatology during 2002-2004.
• During the years 2007-2009, he was the President of another society the Turkish Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery.
• Since 2008, he has served as an Examiner of the European Board of Orthopedics and Traumatology on a regular basis.
• Moreover, he served as the President of the Turkish Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology during the years 2017-2019.

Memberships

Prof. Dr. Mehmet Demirhan is a member of a well-known society known as the “American College of Physicians”.

Publications

• Prof. Dr. Mehmet Demirhan is a renowned author of more than 70 papers which are published in international journals.
• He has also given lectures as well as presented his papers in more than 100 international congresses.
