• Prof. Dr. Hartmut Dohner started his early education from his hometown in Germany, and for his medical degree, he chose a prestigious institute in Germany.
• He completed his graduation in medicine from Regensburg University in Freiburg; later, he also went to Montpellier University in France.
• After completing his graduation, Dr. Hartmut did his specialization in medical oncology and hematology from Heidelberg University, Germany.
• For his research training, he did his training from the University of Heidelberg in the oncology unit.
• Later he went to the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, for his post-doctoral diploma in internal medicine.

Professional Career

• Prof. Dr. Hartmut Dohner started his professional career at St. Vincentius hospital in Germany, where he served as an oncopathology intern for two years, from 1983-1985.
• After that, he also did one year of training at the University of Heidelberg in the oncology unit.
• Dr. Hartmut served at the University of Heidelberg from 1993-1999 as a senior oncologist in the oncology department.
• Later he joined the University of Ulm in 2006 and became head of the department of internal medicine.
• He also served in the hematology and rheumatology unit of Ulm university hospital for six years.
• In 2006, Dr. Hartmut was promoted to head of the comprehensive care center, Ulm.
• Later in the year 2012, he was also made coordinator at collaborative research center Ulm.
• Since 2006, he has been associated with Ulm university hospital.

Awards

• In 1995, Prof. Dr. Hartmut Dohner received a leukemia clinical research award for his excellent services in hematology.

• A year later, in 2011, Dr. Hartmut received Wilhelm Warner's cancer research award.
• He also received the Jose Carreras award from EHA in 2014.
