Methods for the treatment of aneurysmal bone cyst in Turkey
Treatment of aneurysmal bone cysts in Turkey is carried out on the basis of the results of a comprehensive diagnosis. The main treatments for the disease include:
- Surgical intervention to remove the tumor, followed by bone grafting - replacing the removed part of the bone with an artificial graft.
- Intrafocal curettage is a procedure that involves scraping the cyst from the bone until the tumor is completely removed.
- Cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen), phenol (chemical), or electrocoagulation (cauterization of the tumor bed) is used to remove microscopic tumor cells. Depending on the size and location of the removed aneurysmal bone cyst, the patient is given the most appropriate treatment. Hospitalization of patients lasts from one day to two weeks.
